Day 28- the factory

Today we got up with expectation of a great day. It started well. Espresso standing at the counter in the Italian hotel we were staying. It was fantastico. We left the hotel early to avoid the gay 250 strong group ride organised by the TLM wankers. We rode the 20km to mandello and met the lovely man who was renting his house to us for the next week. He is a true gentleman. He even let me practice my Italiano on him. After we parked Gertie in his garage we walked to the factory. We were not ready for the crowd.
We were both overwhelmed by the passion for the brand. We walked all the open areas of the factory. I actually got quite emotional when we realised that all our bikes had been built where we were standing. Everything from the 1938 250cc onwards. All there.
By early afternoon the crowd was huge and the thermometer crept over 30 degrees. We headed for the lake. Yes we went swimming in lake Como. Afterwards I had a siesta while wifey went shopping for food. In the evening we walked back into the party. It was still crazy. Tomorrow we will hit the factory again early.
