Day 6 - To William Creek via the Boreline Track

Today was only 260kms but it took nearly 4 hours of hard driving. The Boreline track runs from the Olympic Dam mine site and runs up to Meet the Oodnadatta track. We fuelled and watered at Roxby Downs, and with 320 litres of Diesel, 220 litres of water and more bananas, we headed north. The road was pretty good by outback standards but as usual could catch you out at a moment’s notice. A bull dust hole or a series of massive corrugations. Will was so happy to see some Emu’s. There was very little traffic. We passed lake eyre south which was looking pretty full, and arrived at William Creek by3pm. Against all my feelings about camp grounds we have set up in one opposite the pub. Our flight over lake eyre is at 9.30 so we had little choice but to stay here. Despite the other humans we have a great private spot as far from everyone as physically possible.

We got a  spot close to the airstrip 😂
