Day 18- 770kms in 8 hours. Easy

We rode off the ferry at 7am and rode all day. Stopped for fuel twice. Rode into the shed at 5pm. Big day.
Next week we change the suspension and fix up a few bits. We have 4 weeks before the bike goes in the container for holland. We will do another test trip before we go.

Day 17- what you do when you homesick

Go Home

Yeah we found a slot on the ferry so today we headed for Devonport. It was terrible weather. The worst wind I have ever ridden in. Made the ferry on time. Here we are waiting to board out of the rain. Can't wait to get home.

Lisa and Mikey celebrate 25 years

It's our 25th wedding anniversary and we celebrated in style in Hobart. Mt Wellington congratulated us with a snowy wake up.

Don't go to MONA

Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona, Don't go to Mona,

That's all I've got to say about that

Cold & Wet

Lisa found a novel if not predictable way to keep warm on the ferry back from Bruny Island. Very cold day on the bike.

Day 14- heading for Hobart

It rained and blew all night. It blew so hard I thought the bike would be on its side in the morning. We got up and made coffee and pancakes on the trangia before putting every bit of clothing we had on and headed off in the rain. It was muddy slippery and cold and wet. Hobart couldn't come soon enough. We are here for two nights to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary.

Day 13- Off to Bruny Island

With the weather on the improve we headed off to Bruny Island. A lady at the market told us about a lovely little peninsula where she lived, so on the way we had a look. It was a treasure. Even dirt road. She also told us about the best fish and chips in tasmania which we also checked out.
Once off the ferry to Bruny we headed for our camp at adventure bay. When we got there it was waterlogged and shitty. We headed across the island on a 4 Es only trail that nearly but us in the arse. The other side of the island was just as bad and with 100km winds and rain predicted we found a cabin. As it turned out it was a good move.

Day 12- Hobart dodging the weather

We With terrible weather upon us it was a good move to lay low in Hobart for the day. We got some great shopping done and spent some time refining our gear for the big trip in August. We posted 6kg of stuff home. Gertrude will thank us I'm sure
